Australian Online Paid Surveys – How to Avoid the Scams
There are many survey sites offering easy money to work from home just providing your opinion. Some of them are scams and should be avoided. Read this article to find out what you need to do to protect yourself from getting scammed by paid online survey sites.
Beware of Joining Fees
You may come across sites that charge membership fees to join a survey site. You do not need to pay for joining legitimate survey sites, they are free to join. You may also come across offers to join a membership site that will provide you with a list of sites that will make you money and protect you from the scams. While these lists or membership sites can be useful, in most cases you can find the same information yourself if you do the research. You certainly do not need to pay to join a survey site.
Check for reports on the survey website
These days if a paid survey website is a scam, it will soon be reported. The way to find out if a survey website has been reported is to visit a survey forum. These forums have reports of the experience of members with survey websites and if one is a scam you will find details here. There are also websites setup just to alert people of scams and the survey website may well be listed on one of these as well. A Google search for the survey website and the word ’scam’ will most likely find any information if it exists. Be aware though that if the website has only recently been launched, there may not be any information reported yet.
Contact the Survey Company
The survey website should have a ’Contact Us’ page with phone and address details. If you are not able to find this then it is a sure sign that something is not right. Legitimate online paid survey websites will have a clearly visible contact page. If you have any questions or something does not seem as it should be, go ahead and contact the survey company. You should be able to ask questions by phone or by email and receive a response in a reasonable time. If you do not get a response then beware it may not be legitimate.
Beware of Testimonials
Testimonials are used extensively by survey websites and in most cases they will give you some additional information from members that is helpful for you. They often sound great, and will get you excited about joining. But, be aware that testimonials may be made up and survey websites run by scammers do not hesitate to convince you with false testimonials.
